Multi-format financial upload
Bring in almost any file your bank or brokerage will give you — not just PDFs.
How it works: upload PDF, CSV or text, XLSX, OFX, QFX, or QBO files and LedgerLens routes each to the right parser.
Plan:Starter and up
Most people meet LedgerLens as a bank statement converter. That is the first thirty seconds of it.
Behind that upload box is a full personal and small-business finance system: reconciliation that proves your statement periods are complete, forecasting in four currencies, subscription detection with a cancellation shortlist, six downloadable report types, a personal balance sheet, purpose-built workspaces for creators and students, and seven read-only tools that answer questions inside ChatGPT.
This page lists all of it. Not a highlights reel — the actual list, with the plan each capability is on.
Six input formats, one file or a hundred, and an honest queue for anything that needs a human.
17 entries.
Bring in almost any file your bank or brokerage will give you — not just PDFs.
How it works: upload PDF, CSV or text, XLSX, OFX, QFX, or QBO files and LedgerLens routes each to the right parser.
Plan:Starter and up
Full-year statements and image-heavy PDFs go through without splitting them first.
How it works: each supported document can be up to 20 MB.
Plan:Starter and up
Clear a backlog in one action instead of one upload at a time.
How it works: send up to 100 documents in a single request and get per-batch success totals back.
Plan:Starter and up
Your tax paperwork and your statements stay recognizably different things.
How it works: label and manage bank statements, W-2s, 1099 variants, credit-card statements, investment statements, receipts, and tax returns.
Plan:Starter and up
The core job: a PDF statement becomes dated debit and credit rows you can work with.
How it works: text-bearing bank-statement PDFs are parsed into dated debit and credit rows, with a reconciliation check recorded for each run.
Plan:Starter and up
Files that are already structured skip the PDF pipeline entirely and import cleanly.
How it works: OFX-family files, XLSX workbooks, and CSV input are parsed directly without the statement service.
Plan:Starter and up
W-2s and 1099s are read as tax documents, not as generic PDFs.
How it works: W-2, 1099, and tax-return PDFs route through a dedicated tax-document parser.
Plan:Starter and up
A digital receipt becomes a structured record instead of an attachment you will never open again.
How it works: from text-bearing receipt PDFs, LedgerLens pulls merchant, date, subtotal, tax, and total. This reads text already inside the PDF — it does not read photographed or scanned paper receipts.
Plan:Starter and up
Brokerage statements get a parser that understands positions, not just amounts.
How it works: investment PDFs run through a position-aware parser with structured fields.
Plan:Starter and up
A credit-card import either balances or it tells you — it never quietly hands you a wrong number.
How it works: only rows that satisfy the liability reconciliation equation are imported; anything else is suppressed and sent to review.
Plan:Starter and up
When an ordinary parse comes back empty or uncertain, a second method gets a turn.
How it works: on Plus and above, a metered language model runs only on failed or abstained PDF parses, and results are held for your review when reconciliation does not balance.
Plan:Plus and up
You always know which documents are done, which failed, and which want a decision from you.
How it works: filter documents by status, type, and date, and open a dedicated Needs Review queue.
Plan:Starter and up
The source file stays yours and stays reachable.
How it works: download any uploaded original through a signed URL or a streamed response.
Plan:Starter and up
A bad parse is a retry, not a re-upload.
How it works: put a document back on the processing queue after a failed or unsatisfactory run.
Plan:Starter and up
One reviewed statement, one clean `.xlsx` — the thing most people came here for.
How it works: download a reviewed statement's transactions as an Excel file.
Plan:Plus and up
Export a whole year the same way you export one month.
How it works: generate Excel exports for a list of document IDs, or for everything matching a status, type, and date query.
Plan:Plus and up
Removing a document removes what was derived from it, and the destructive version is deliberately hard to trigger.
How it works: delete one document; an Admin can type-to-confirm deletion of all documents and their derived transactions.
Plan:Starter and up (all-delete requires the Admin role)
Correct a merchant once. LedgerLens remembers, and shows you why it guessed.
11 entries.
Find a payment from eight months ago in a few seconds.
How it works: search paginated transactions and pull filtered statistics plus the available date range.
Plan:Starter and up
Cash spending is part of your picture even though no statement records it.
How it works: add, edit, inspect, and delete ledger rows by hand, including activity that never appears on a statement.
Plan:Starter and up
Fixing one wrong category takes one action.
How it works: assign or change the category on any transaction.
Plan:Starter and up
Most rows arrive already categorized, on every plan including the free one.
How it works: your rules, categories, merchant mappings, and history are applied as parsed rows are saved.
Plan:Starter and up
The rows your rules cannot place get a proposed answer instead of a blank.
How it works: on Plus and above, low-confidence rows receive reviewable category guesses, with source and confidence recorded on each.
Plan:Plus and up
You can always tell what LedgerLens learned from you apart from what it guessed.
How it works: deterministic suggestions drawn from your own history are labeled separately from model guesses, and you accept or dismiss each.
Plan:Starter and up for history-based suggestions; model-based suggestions are Plus and up
Recategorize hundreds of rows in one pass and see exactly which ones failed.
How it works: a deduplicated selection is categorized in concurrent chunks with per-row success and failure results.
Plan:Pro and up
Clear a review backlog at typing speed instead of mouse speed.
How it works: move, select, accept, and dismiss category suggestions with keyboard shortcuts and bulk actions.
Plan:Pro and up
Your chart of accounts, not a fixed list someone else picked.
How it works: create, edit, delete, list, and browse nested categories.
Plan:Starter and up
Write a rule once, see what it would catch, then apply it to everything you already have.
How it works: create matching rules, preview their hits, and run a rule across existing transactions.
Plan:Starter and up
LedgerLens notices when you keep making the same correction and offers to stop asking.
How it works: repeated behavior becomes a proposed category rule you accept or dismiss.
Plan:Starter and up
A budget built from what you actually spent, and alerts you configured yourself.
22 entries.
Set a limit per category and per period, and change it when life changes.
How it works: create, edit, deactivate or delete, and inspect budgets by category and period.
Plan:Starter and up
You find out you are close to a limit before you cross it, not at month end.
How it works: spending is compared against each limit, and a realtime event fires when usage crosses the level you set.

How it works: schedule email, push, or in-app reminders anywhere from 1 to 90 days before a due date.
Plan:Starter and up
Reminders go to a confirmed address, and delivery outcome is recorded.
How it works: due-bill reminders are sent only to active users with a verified email, and each send records sent or failed state.
Plan:Starter and up
Seven alert types, each one yours to switch off.
How it works: enable or disable seven alert types and set your own numeric thresholds and cooldowns.
Plan:Starter and up
Two levels of warning, not one, because "getting close" and "over" are different problems.
How it works: warning or critical alerts fire when spending crosses your chosen threshold or the budget total.
Plan:Starter and up
The reminder tells you the amount and the date, not just that something is due.
How it works: due-soon and overdue alerts carry amount and date context.
Plan:Starter and up
Saving gets acknowledged at the points where people usually quit.
How it works: notices fire at 25%, 50%, 75%, and completion.
Plan:Starter and up

We are not claiming to beat any of these tools at their own game. The point is narrower and more useful: if you were going to buy a bank statement converter and a subscription canceller and a reporting tool, you would be assembling by hand what LedgerLens already does in one place — against one reviewed set of transactions instead of five disconnected ones.

Converting a PDF statement to Excel is one of 110 features on this page. It is also the one most people arrive for, so it is worth being direct: yes, LedgerLens does that, on Plus and above, one statement at a time or in batch. Then it keeps going — the converted rows become a ledger you can categorize, budget against, reconcile, forecast from, and report on.
More than most people expect. Statement upload and extraction across six file formats, rule-based categorization, transaction search, category budgets, bills and reminders, savings goals, all seven alert types, cash-flow and spending analytics, subscription detection, reconciliation, forecasting, all six PDF report types, net worth, the creator and student workspaces, and all seven ChatGPT tools are on Starter at $0. Excel export and the Budget Wizard start at Plus.
PDF, CSV or text, XLSX, OFX, QFX, and QBO. Files up to 20 MB each, up to 100 documents per batch.
No, and we would rather say so here than surprise you later. Some PDFs come back empty or low-confidence, and credit-card statements only import when the balances reconcile — when they do not, the rows are suppressed and sent to review rather than imported wrong. Anything uncertain lands in the Needs Review queue instead of silently entering your ledger. A wrong number you trust is worse than a missing one you can see.
Not today. LedgerLens extracts merchant, date, subtotal, tax, and total from receipt PDFs that already contain text. Photographed or scanned paper receipts are not supported yet.
You connect LedgerLens as a read-only tool set. ChatGPT can ask for recent transactions, search, category spending, document status, your available date range, budget status, and a dated financial picture with an optional what-if. The document tool returns metadata only — raw document bytes are excluded. You can see every connected client and revoke access from Settings.
Yes — rule-based. Your rules, your categories, your merchant mappings, and your own history are applied automatically as rows are saved, on Starter. Model-generated suggestions for the rows those rules cannot place start at Plus, and they are always labeled as suggestions for you to accept or dismiss.
It answers "am I missing a month?" LedgerLens compares the statement periods you have uploaded against the periods it expects and shows the gaps. Before you file taxes, apply for a loan, or trust a year-end number, that is the check worth running. You can save the run as a record.
The income-gap snapshot and the receivables-runway calculator are public pages that need no account and store nothing in an account. The bank-feed cross-check and PDF-to-action tools are also public routes. None of them is part of a subscription plan, and no plan is required to use them.
Yes — install it from your browser as a standalone app with its own icon and shortcuts to Transactions, Documents, and Reports. Settings has the exact install steps for your device, including iOS Add to Home Screen.
